Program Summary

Up to $20,000 deferred loan with 0% interest, forgivable after 5 years of owner-occupancy. Funds for down payment and/or closing costs. Cannot exceed funds needed to close. Property must be within Salt Lake City municipal boundaries. DTI limits: 35-40% front-end, 45-50% back-end. Requires $1,000 minimum buyer contribution plus 1 month cash reserve.

How to Apply

  1. 1⏸️ FUNDING EXPECTED LATE JANUARY 2026 - Currently out of funds.
  2. 2Verify property is within Salt Lake City boundaries (Salt Lake County Assessor website).
  3. 3Get pre-approved with a mortgage lender.
  4. 4Have an accepted purchase contract before applying.
  5. 5Complete HUD-approved homebuyer education course.
  6. 6Submit application to CDCU by email, fax, or in person.
  7. 7Processing takes 25-30 business days.
  8. 8Receive funds at closing for down payment and/or closing costs.

Required Documents

  • Income verification for all household members 18+ (pay stubs, tax returns, W-2s)
  • HUD-approved homebuyer education certificate
  • Accepted purchase contract (REPC)
  • Pre-approval letter from lender
  • Proof of $1,000 minimum buyer contribution
  • Verification of 1 month cash reserve after closing
